Here's a little tribute to Madame C.J. Walker (1867-1919). Born to former slaves in Louisiana, she rose up to become the first female millionaire in America. She developed a line of beauty and hair care products for African American women. Not only was she an outstanding entrepreneur, she was also an avid philanthropist and social activist.
